What is my content writing about?

As a content writer, I make sure your content (copy) attracts attention, is readable and holds interest. This depends on good content but, in my role as a writer, it relies on my ability to fine-tune and cut out unnecessary information. Making something shorter and clearer can be more challenging than writing lengthy, wordy, confusing texts. When I write, it is my task to make readers want to read on or find out more. My skills in copy-editing and proofreading also support my writing.

I prefer plain language principles in my writing. Plain language makes content accessible to readers and means that they can understand the content the first time they read it. That said, I can also write to the needs of specific contexts, which means I can waffle a bit as needed or keep content in a preferred style. I respect the client’s need and am committed to ensuring their credibility.

Happy clients

‘The quality and timeliness of her work has been exemplary. She has an attention to detail, takes time to understand the brief and is action-oriented. Alexis is responsive, a strong communicator and delivers to deadlines.’ (Anphia Beyers, DFYD, Australia)

‘I was struggling for months on end to secure interviews for work, leaving me unemployed for far too long. I then reached out to Alexis who brought in her expertise to assist me with my CV and LinkedIn profle. Employers were attracted to my CV and profile and I received multiple contacts and oppurtunities. I am now employed and couldn’t be more grateful for the work she did, which I know made the difference.’ (Damion van Douw, account manager, Pretoria)

‘There’s a great power in words, if you don’t hitch too many of them together.’

Josh Billings
